Profile Last Updated: June 11, 2008
Since 2001, Auberge Bonsecours has been offering travellers a delightful hotel experience in the heart of the historic Old Port. A unique setting, the hotel is housed in a completely renovated, formerly abandoned horse stable. Across the street from the Bonsecours Market, it is close to a metro station and is within walking distance of many of the stores and restaurants found in the Old Port.
Each Room Is Different
The hotel has seven cheery rooms, so be sure to reserve well in advance. Each room has its own distinct design. All are equipped with a phone, safe, TV and private bath. The rooms on the top floor are particularly impressive because of the angled ceilings, giving them an offbeat feeling. The old stone and woodwork of the building blends in perfectly with the warm Provençal yellows and reds.
Place to Be Seen
Inside and out, the hotel is filled with lovely touches like hand-painted artwork. Outside, you can lounge on one of the two flowered patios in the inner courtyard, which are among some of the most-photographed spots in Old Montreal. A hearty breakfast buffet is included in the elegant breakfast room or outside on the terrace.
