The French Baker is aptly named since its bread and pastries are made in the traditional French way. Here, the bread is baked with out any oil, fats or milk, while the pastries are deliciously chockfull of them. The pastries, which include butter croissants, raisin pastries and pain au chocolat, are very rich. Varieties of cakes, like apple nougat, are also made here, while baguettes and brioche are two kinds of bread available.
Quality Is Worth It!
Speaking of dough, you are going to need some if you want to try some of these great baked goods. The prices here aren’t cheap, but when it comes to The French Baker, you truly get what you pay for. All of the goods baked here are of the best quality. The butter croissants are largely considered to be the best in the city.
Benny's In the Back
Benny's Bistro is a small restaurant located in the back of the store. The lunch menu includes soups, quiches, and meals like the confit of rabbit salad with roasted garlic aioli, leek fries, and julienne tomatoes, on baby spinach. Each lunch entree has a wine recommendation on the menu. Fine beers are also available. The breakfast menu is continental style with granola, fresh fruits, roasted potatoes, and omelettes. Seasonal and organic produce is used whenever possible. If you are craving some real French food, whether you want to eat out or take it with you, try The French Baker.
