A share-friendly appetizer menu is loaded with tender grilled beef and chicken skewers, deep fried soft shell crab, and baked black mushrooms with garlic butter. For the freshest fish around, Oyster serves grilled mackerel, salmon, black cod, and grilled neck of Hamachi. A selection of tempura dishes such as the seafood dinner with shrimp, scallop, and crabmeat is served with miso soup, rice and veggies.
Maki Attack
The hungry value-seeking foodie will appreciate Oyster’s teriyaki dishes for under $20 a pop. These massive dishes are so large you’ll doggy bag it the next day for work. Choose either beef, salmon, shrimp tempura or chicken to accompany your miso soup, rice, veggies and dessert. If seafood is more your forte, then you’re in luck. Fresh lobster, served with garlic butter or cooked in a black bean sauce, weighs in at 1.5 pounds. Other delicacies on the menu that shouldn’t be overlooked are the live Vancouver crab, and the B.B.Q eel served on a bed of rice. The real deal at Oyster’s is the ultra cool specialty maki made fresh on the premise. Try the green dragon maki which is tempura shrimp, avocado, and flying fish roe topped with avocado. Regulars can’t get enough of the breaded fried maki with unagi (freshwater eel) and red snapper.
